General Questions

Do we need reservations for camping, lodging, floating...?

Yes!  We don’t want you to miss out so we recommend reservations, especially for weekends starting Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend.  Make your reservation here: Reservations

Are deposits required?

We require 100% prepayment within 10 days of making a reservation.

When do you open for the season?

The fun never ends, we are open year round for Camping, Floating, and Lodging.  Don’t forget to make your reservations! Reservations

Are pets allowed?

Yes, pets are allowed. For floating: they just need to be kept on a leash. On the premises: Yes. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times while on the resort property and never left unattended. Please do not attach leashes to the trees. In lodging: We do not recommend, but if you wish to bring them, there is a $50.00 non-refundable per pet fee. You are responsible for letting us know you have a pet in our lodging and any damages that occur. Please don’t leave unattended pets inside units for any length of time.

Do you have showers and restrooms?

Yes!  We have 5 coin operated clean shower houses with restrooms throughout the resort.  Showers are 50¢ for about 5 minutes.

What is your cancellation policy?

We have a 14 day cancellation policy. As long as you cancel at least 14 days prior to your arrival you will get your deposit back less a $35 service charge. Any cancellations or changes made less than 14 days of your arrival date result in the full amount forfeited.

Where are you located?

We are located in Steelville, MO. We are:
One and a half hours from St. Louis, Columbia & Jeff City
Three hours from Springfield & Branson
Two and a half hours from Cape Girardeau
Four hours from Kansas City

Camping Questions

Do we need reservations, and when should we reserve?

Yes. We always recommend a reservation on weekends, especially Memorial through Labor Day weekends.  Due to the popularity of our resort, we recommend anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months in advance.

Do you have showers and restrooms?

Yes!  We have 5 shower houses throughout our resort.  Showers are coin operated and cost is about 50¢ per 5 minute shower.

What do you require for deposits?

We require 100% prepayment.  We do take a security deposit of $40.00 on each loud area site. Please keep your campsite clean throughout your stay. Have your site checked before leaving to receive your deposit refund. RV hookup charges must be paid prior to arrival.

Are there fees for electric, W&E, and full hookups?

Yes.  You pay per person per night camping fees, and one charge for the hookup; per site per night.

What is the difference in the RV hookups?

Electric = electric only.  W&E = water and electric. Full Hookup = Water, Electric, & Sewer.  30 & 50 Amp available.

Are UTV's, Golf Carts allowed on the premises?

At this time we do not allow UTV’s on the premises. We do allow Golf Carts for a $30.00 fee.

What should I bring?

Some suggested items: Tent & stakes, rope, sleeping bag/air mattress, pillow, camp stove, lantern, lawn chairs, insect repellent, toiletries, cookware, cooler.  Come visit our campground store for anything you forgot!

Are there dump stations onsite?

Yes!  We have a dump station located in the 200’s by Shower House II.

How late is check in?

Memorial Day through Labor Day weekends we are open until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. Off-season please let the office know your arrival time.

Lodging Questions

Do we need reservations and how far in advance should I reserve?

Yes! Lodging on weekends (Friday & Saturday nights) June – August tends to book up very quickly. Advance reservations may be made up to 1 year in advance. Reservations are suggested 2 weeks to 2 months in advance if possible.

What do I need to bring?

All linens, pillows, towels, utensils, cookware, lawn chairs, toiletries, food and drinks.  Visit our campground store for anything you may have forgotten.

Are the cabins located on the water?

No. Due to the change in water levels they are not right on the water.  Some cabins do overlook the Courtois River, and most are within walking distance of the river.

Are UTV's, Golf Carts allowed on the premises?

At this time we do not allow UTV’s on the premises. We do allow Golf Carts for a $30.00 fee.

What do you require for deposits?

100% prepayment is required within 10 days of making your reservation. We also require a list of people in each cabin reserved.

Are your cabins accessible?

We do have accessible cabins.  They are Log Cabin 16 & 19 (8 & 12 person max), Cozy 7a & 8a (4 person max), Buck Lodge, Doe Lodge, Coyote Creek, Wolf Den (20 person Max), and Meadow View Lodge 1 & 2 (16 person max).

River Trip Questions

Do I need reservations for floating, and how far in advance?

Yes.  We recommend a reservation in advance for Saturdays from Memorial Day through Labor Day Weekend.  Floats require payment in full to guarantee your float.  Weekdays and Sundays don’t always require a reservation, but you may want to call ahead at least a day to let us know you’re coming.

What do you require for deposits?

Float reservations require 100% pre-payment within 10 days of making the reservation.  

How swift are your floats?

Our stream is classified as a “1”. Which means it’s as easy as it gets, except for the upper parts in spring when the water is up.  Feel free to call for water conditions.

What should I bring?

Some suggested items are: cooler, sunscreen, insect repellent, dry bag, towel(s), water shoes, bungee cords, food and drinks.  If you forget anything we have a great variety of supplies at the Bass General Store.

Which rivers do you float?

Our resort is located on the beautiful Courtois River, and we also float the Huzzah and Meramec Rivers.

What's Included in the float price?

Your float trip will include all the equipment you’ll need, trashbags, and shuttle arrangements.  

Which is the most popular float?

We recommend our six mile Blunt to Bass float.  This float usually takes 3-4 hours in a canoe, or a raft trip takes 4-6 hours.
